BOREDOM
AD BIO
After the original singer of the band Dani left in December 06, the remaining members approached old friend Bri Slutcher (UK Subs, Slutch)to take over vocals whilst at the same time re recruiting drummer Ersy (Potential Threat) after a 6 month lay off . BOREDOM A.D Line Up - Bri Slutcher - vocals, Ian - Guitar, Andy P - Bass, Andy F - Bass, Ersy - Drums The new line up began rehersals in early January 07 reworking some old Boredom songs, and released a three track demo recorded in rehersal in early Feb 07. The demo not only suprised a few people with the bands new direction but received the overall thumbs up. After two months rehersal on March 9th the band debuted the new line up at a secret gig to a positive response. A day later making their official debut at the Exchange in Bradford "Was this going to be good or just some punk rock nomad going through the motions just to pay for his spoon collection (you ask him). No way. Barnes is reborn here and really threw in such an enthralling performance has to leave several jaws on the floor. The band responded to Bri's antics by upping their game and this resulted in a classic. Like a primate on heat Barnsey jumped from pillar to post and strutted his stuff in ham and glam style second to none. 'All About Me' was an excellent opener and if anyone can take the piss out of themselves then Brians the man. 'Vincent Price' is a gem and the invasion of the elderly gentlemen and his horror trivia was just a peach and added to the fun atmosphere. The set was a classic and Boredom are a real force to be reckoned with. It was good to hear a few Slutch songs thrown in there as they a really too good to miss out. 'Scared of Lisa' was special and it's a pity 'Love is Dead' was missed due to time restrictions. How good were Boredom – the best yet – and I rated this band anyway so that really is a compliment. Steve Scab looked at me after Boredoms performance and a wry smile with the words 'How do I follow that?' were all he could offer. Go on lad and give it your best." Dave/ OMD In mid March the band entered the studio to record their debut ep, seven tracks were recorded- Its All about Me, I Dont Know, Lowlife07, Vincent Price, I want More, Shes Thrown An Eppy and Maniac. Dissapointed with the outcome, in early April the band again entered the studio to re record all the tracks with the exception of I Dont Know (available exclusively in the sounds section). The bands debut release a six track ep titled "Unsolid Entertainment" was released on Friday the 13th of April 07 on Noize Anoize Music. Despite the band being little over three month old in mid April they embarked on a succesful 13 date UK tour with Japanese Streetpunk band Drex and One Man Stand. click here for band member profiles click here for previous Boredom History |
